Chris Pearl – Firefighter
What I like most is, it is a
great place to work but at the same time, it’s like another family
to me.
As a firefighter, I have the
opportunity to help people and save lives. I volunteer because it’s
fun and it’s important to me to give back to my town. I have a
full-time job that allows me to be a volunteer firefighter. |

Dick Hazzard – Dispatch
In 1956, when I was a child,
our house (48 Post Road) caught on fire. The Greenland Volunteer
Fire Department saved my family’s home. I joined when I was 16
years old.
(48 Post Road is the School
Administrative Building)

Jason Caruso - EMT
I enjoy being a volunteer because it allows me to give back and be a
part of my community. The training I have had and skills I have
learned are invaluable too!

Ralph Cresta – Chief and Firefighter
The Greenland Volunteer Fire
Department came to my house and put out a chimney fire. Before they
left Jack Driscoll asked me when I was going to join. I’ve been a
member since 1984.

Susan Dame – EMT
I joined because both my
boyfriend and my brother were on volunteer fire departments. They
both encouraged me to join and become an EMT.
Through volunteering, I
realized how much I really liked being an EMT and helping people.
I’ve changed careers from working in an office to working in an
Emergency Room. |

Derek Simpson - EMT
I volunteer to give something back to
the community, and keep my taxes low.
What I like most is that I get to work
with a great group of people. Being an EMT allows me to experience
first hand the difference you can make in a person’s life. |

Colleen Sodini – First Responder
I believe volunteerism is
important and this is my small way of contributing to Greenland.
I really enjoy meeting the
people in our town and it’s very rewarding being able to help them.
I am very proud of the Greenland Volunteer Fire Department and proud
to be a member.
